Psalm 131 Message

131 ‘God, I’m not trying to rule the roost,
I don’t want to be king of the mountain.
I haven’t meddled where I have no business
or fantasized grandiose plans.
2 I’ve kept my feet on the ground,
I’ve cultivated a quiet heart.
Like a baby content in its mother’s arms,
my soul is a baby content.
3 Wait, Israel, for God. Wait with hope.
Hope now; hope always!’

this short psalm is about contentment

once, in the U.K., your spouse asked someone to pray for her to have clarity about whether we should stay for another two years in the U.K. or return to the NYC

John, in a massive struggle himself, then shared that we rarely get clarity, rarely in this life, but our Lord calls us to contentment.

To be content, filled and stilled, at peace in all circumstances or moments, this is what our Lord calls us, me, too.

Philippians 4: 11 – 13

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content(A) whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,whether living in plenty or in want.13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
